Located in Beacon Hill and centrally located from all MBTA lines: 3 from blocks from North Station, Charles/MGH, Government Center and Bowdoin T-Stops.  At our center we offer a great selection of daily yoga classes, personal coaching seminars, workshops, trainings and more!

Studio Information

Pre-registration is not required. You can sign-in online or simply drop-in for a class. We suggest you bring your own mat.  However, we do rent mats and towels at the studio for a nominal fee. We have bottled water for purchase and a water cooler so please bring your own reusable bottle.

Health Yoga Life has a partnership with Zone5 Fitness (3 Hancock Street) to use their shower facilities for $5. Towel service is not included.

Class registration key cards are given to 10 Class Pack Members, Auto-Renewal Memberships, and Annual Memberships. One scan of your barcode registers you for class, and you can conveniently attach the card to your key chain. There is a $5.00 replacement fee if you lose your membership key card.

Tips For Beginner Yoga Students


 

Class Descriptions

POWER ‘n FLOW (heated) ALL LEVELS  You, Your Mat, Your Breath, and Your Body.  A vinyasa flow class that gets your body moving. Continual movement through yoga postures gets your blood-rate up while balancing and core sections will keep you focused and strong. Modifications are highlighted in order to make the class achievable for all. Teachers will impart inspiring insights so students leave with the knowledge of how to grow their yoga practice.  All are welcome!

GROOVE ‘n FLOW (heated) ALL LEVELS  A vinyasa based class that gets your body move’n and a groove’n. Flow class set to music. Continual movement through yoga postures gets your blood-rate up while balancing and core sections will keep you focused and strong. Modifications are highlighted in order to make the class achievable for all. All are welcome!

FREE STYLE ‘n FLOW (non-heated) ALL LEVELS Out to lunch! This sixty minute combination-class consists of basic yoga movements, an invigorating breathing section and a restorative meditation. Created for the busy-bee, this class will help you fly past the stagnation of the day, achieve higher levels of concentration, and feel refreshed.

POWER ‘n FLOW BASICS (heated) ALL LEVELS/BEGINNER No experience necessary! This is an ideal place to start learning the foundations of yoga. Posture, alignment, breathing, and flow sequence are explained in detail focusing on building strength and confidence. A great class for those who have been on a yoga break, recovering from injury or want to be reminded about the essentials that make a yoga practice powerful.

KUNDALINI YOGA (non-heated) This practice aims to awaken energy located at the base of the spine through a system of breath, posture, and rhythmic motions. Bringing this energy up through the chakras (energy centers), helps encourage students towards deep awakening. This is a must try for yoginis that want to be guided through an attentive experience. Great for all levels!

RESTORE ‘n RESTART (moderately heated) ALL LEVELS Time Out! There are times when we need to pour energy in rather than out of our bodies. This is just the ticket. Hip openers, slower transitions,  muscle softening postures – all these will decrease the intensity of this class.  Low-to-moderate heat will ensure every system can tolerate this restorative class.

INTERMEDIATE (heated) A labor of love! Learn to break through the plateau of your yoga routine with expertise help. A Vinyasa intermediate class – for those that have attended at least 10 Power ‘n Flow classes at Health Yoga Life and have a solid and ongoing yoga practice. Go deeper into advanced postures and variations . Enjoy a challenging practice and flow through intense back bends, inversions, binds and arm balances. Designed for those who wish to challenge themselves both physically and mentally.

PRENATAL (unheated).  Breathing, gentle movements and pivotal stretches will help expectant mothers bring exercise and serenity to themselves during a time of physical change. Created with both beginner and proficient yoginis in mind. This class will generate a more quiescent environment within your body, soothing pre-birth jitters. Come together with other women experiencing similar physical effects and allow the yoga to unfold. Check with your doctor to ensure yoga during pregnancy is safe for you and your baby.
