Reach Out and Do Yoga! – by Liz Swenton

Later this month, two of my favorite things are coming together for one event – yoga and volunteering – also known as the Yoga Reaches Out New England Yogathon.

To help prepare local yogis for this day-long event being held at Gillette, Health Yoga Life yogis have teamed up to offer a special benefit class on Saturday, April 12th from 1 to 2:30 pm. Christine Meade will lead you through a powerful Vinyasa flow and I will be providing hands-on assists throughout class. Christine is also taking song suggestions – you can tweet to her at @christinemeade.

Your $20 class donation will guarantee you a spot in class and 100% of the proceeds will be donated to Boston Children’s Hospital and Citizen Schools, which are two of YRO’s charities.

Sarah Gardner started Yoga Reaches Out in 2009, with the mission to “bring the yoga community together to create seva (selfless service).” To learn more about YRO and the event, check out this great post on BostInno.

We’re also recruiting yogis to join Team HYL at the Yogathon! So if you’re free on Sunday, April 27th, we’d love to have you participate with us.

So let’s reach out, Boston – and do some  yoga!

There is no better way to learn about the practice you love than through a yoga teacher training.

Join us and give yourself the opportunity to rest, heal, shed, and grow.
