You’ve decided to sign up for yoga teacher training with Health Yoga Life. As you begin to prepare for the start of your class, make sure you have all the essentials you need to succeed in your training. We recommend the following six yoga training essentials:
- A high-quality mat
- Comfortable, versatile leggings
- A soft headband
- Healthy snack bars
- And water
A Supportive Mat
Having a good mat is essential to any yoga teacher training because you’ll be spending a significant amount of time practicing. Now is not the time to skimp on a good mat! We recommend a Manduka Pro Mat, which is made of sustainable materials and has been known to last for 20+ years for some yogis. Your joints (and your long-term budget) will thank you for investing in a quality Manduka mat.
Leggings that Move with You
Because you’ll be spending so much time on the mat, a good pair of basic black leggings is a must-have piece of yoga apparel. If you need leggings that are not only comfortable but make you feel confident, try a pair of Onzie leggings. To spice up your practice, add a fun print to your collection of leggings. A Comfortable Workout Headband
While participating in HYL’s yoga teacher training, it’s essential to keep your hair under control. Keep your hair in place and sweat off your face with a prAna headband. Made from recycled materials, these headbands are raved for their comfort, functionality, and designs. We highly recommend getting one to complete your practice! Snack Bars for Focus
With all the energy you’ll be expending during your training, it’s important to fuel properly. A go-to snack for YTT is a KIND bar. HYL students and teachers alike especially love the milk chocolate peanut butter flavor. Though, you can’t go wrong with a caramel almond and sea salt bar or a dark chocolate almond mint bar. Stay focused on your training by ensuring you’re giving your body the nutrients it needs. Before heading into a yoga teacher training session, eat a KIND bar. Ensure you always have your favorite flavors on hand by subscribing to a Build Your Own Box. Customize your box to your tastes and preferences and pick your shipping frequency so you never run out. Most essential of all is water! Hydration is really important during training. Be sure to consume water throughout the day leading up to your training and about 8 oz of water every fifteen minutes while training. To keep your water intake up, get a water bottle that is easy to carry around – perhaps one with a handle or one that fits into your yoga bag.
