Welcoming Change During the Solar Eclipse!

Have you heard? The first solar eclipse since 1979 will be visible on Monday, August 21st! Not only is the eclipse an incredible phenomenon to witness, it is also a reminder about change and the power of change in our everyday lives.

Accepting changes, let alone embracing them, can be a difficult skill to master. Whether you’re thinking about starting a new job, going back to school, picking up a new hobby, or beginning a new relationship, big changes can have us feeling like the whole world has turned upside-down.

For most of us, change brings up feelings of panic and worry. You may also come down with a serious case of the “What-If’s” during times of change as you begin to question the direction your life has taken: “What if I fail?”; “What if things are too hard?”; “What if I’m making a huge mistake?”

We’ve all experienced these feelings of self-doubt at some point in our lives, but the real question you should be asking yourself is…

“What if I can do it?”

Instead of labeling the events and changes in your life as “good” or “bad,” try welcoming them with open arms and free of judgment. Opportunities for growth and self-exploration have a way of presenting themselves during times of change and, as the Buddha once said…

“Everything changes, nothing remains without change.”

Start by inviting little changes into your yoga practice. Maybe you challenge yourself to try out crow pose when the teacher cues it in class, or you “flip your dog” for the first time. Whatever little changes you choose, remember that stepping outside of your comfort zone creates space for growth and opportunities!

Another great way to invite change into your practice is to try out a new style of yoga. Our Kundalini classes are an empowering and incredible way to learn more about yourself, your dreams, and the limitless possibilities of your life! Stop by our Cambridge studio every Tuesday and Thursday from 7:30 p.m. – 8:45 p.m. for Kundalini classes and reward yourself for trying out something new! CLICK HERE to sign up for class today!

You can also welcome change into your life by growing your community! On September 7th, join your fellow Yogis for a special Kirtan Concert featuring artist Gurunam Singh. Whether this is your first Kirtan or you’re a seasoned practitioner, this will be a truly memorable night you won’t want to miss! CLICK HERE to purchase your tickets! Hurry, this event will sell-out fast!

No matter where you find yourself on August 21st, take a moment to remember that so many other people, across all walks of life, are gazing up at the same beautiful phenomenon as you. The solar eclipse is a reminder that change comes, often whether we’re ready or not, and yet somehow creates immense beauty in our lives. Start celebrating these changes as opportunities and step outside of your comfort zone, even if it’s just for a few minutes in yoga class this week!

There is no better way to learn about the practice you love than through a yoga teacher training.

Join us and give yourself the opportunity to rest, heal, shed, and grow.
